Sligo Blitz Saturday 6th October – CANCELLED!!!

The organiser of the annual Sligo Blitz for U14 County Academies has reluctantly had to cancel this year’s event because of unavailability of pitches due to the heavy rain this week.

After a very poor start in the first period of play, playing against the breeze, when they made 3 mistakes and were punished by 3 goals the Fermanagh players gradually got up to the pace of the game and during the remaining two periods of play they gave Leitrim a very healthy contest. The final score was Fermanagh 4-9 Leitrim 4-13.

U14 Academy Panel 12th July 2012

After the coaching sessions on 9^th, 10^th & 11^th July 2012 the following U14 Academy players will be invited to events planned for this group for the remainder of 2012.

Those players who did not make this list are thanked by the coaches for their efforts and they will be monitored in both club and school games.

U14 Academy Coaching Monday 9^th, Tuesday 10^th & Wednesday 11^th July 2012

Fermanagh Coaching and Games organised a Coaching Camp for the selected U14 (born 1998) Academy players over three days at Lissan. The Camp started on Monday 9^th July and ran to Wednesday 11^th July 2012. Transport was organised to collect the young players who have been selected and they arrived to start at 10.30am and departed just after 1.30pm each day.

Aisling Doonan, Ronan Gallagher and Daryl Keenan worked with this group of players over the three days. They also had talks from Ronan Gallagher and Peter Canavan on what is required to achieve their best at inter-county level, focusing on Physical, Mental and Social aspects, from Peter McGinnity on Nutrition & Hydration and on Wednesday they were involved in the preliminary stages of Strength & Conditioning through a workshop with Gary Mallon and Ryan Mellon from Ulster Council.

Fermanagh competed very well in one game losing by a point but conceded goals and missed goals in the other game and were well beaten. Bouncing the ball!

All these players are now invited to attend an Academy Camp next week at Lissan – contribution £10.

U14 Academy Coaching 2012.

Monday 9^th, Tuesday 10^th & Wednesday 11^th July 2012

Fermanagh Coaching and Games are organising a Coaching Camp for the selected U14 Academy players for three days at Lissan.

The Camp starts on Monday 9^th July and runs to Wednesday 11^th July 2012.

Transport has been organised to collect the young players who have been selected and they will arrive to start at 10.30am and depart just after 1.30pm each day. Each invited player will be asked to contribute £10 to the costs of the Camp.

Ryan Keenan, Ronan Gallagher, Daryl Keenan, Peter Lynch, Aisling Doonan, Aodhgán Murphy, Fabian Burns, and Peter McGinnity will coach at the Camp along with other visiting county players.
