Fermanagh Senior Football League results round-up

The Fermanagh Senior football league commenced on Friday evening with 9 games going ahead out of 10 scheduled encounters, St Patricks Donagh v Maguiresbridge in Division 3 being called off due to a number of hurlers involved in Saturday’s Nicky Rackard game for Fermanagh against Tyrone.
With round 2 coming next Friday again plenty of sides will be pleased with their scoring ability, while no draws were had, there was impressive wins for the likes of Devenish, Ederney, Newtownbutler and Kinawley.
Westville Hotel Senior Football League Division 1
Enniskillen 0-13 v Devenish 0-14
Daniel McGovern was the hero for Devenish with a late late injury time score to seal a win at Brewster Park. The first half was an even affair at 0-4 apiece with points for the hosts from Conor Watson, Neil McDermott, Patrick Reihill and Ethan Beresford, while Devenish had scores from Lanty Feely (2), Jason Love and Martin Doherty.
The hosts went 0-8 to 0-4 ahead in the second half but Devenish stayed in touch with Jamie Flanagan and Conall Maguire pointing. Richard O’Callaghan, Ethan Beresford and Ross Bogue all hit scores for the home side but ThomasMcHugh, Terry O’Flanagan and Daniel McGovern hit Devenish scores to claim victory.
Teemore 0-11 v Irvinestown 0-10
Teemore got the better of Irvinestown in the big Division 1 clash of the evening. Both sides had spells in this game with Irvinestown leading 0-6 to 0-3 at half time.
Erne Gaels 1-12 v Belnaleck 0-8
Erne Gaels claimed victory against a Belnaleck side whocame out second best on the night. Garvan Quigley hit a perfect 45 in the opening half as the visitors went in leading at the break, 0-4 to 0-2. Seamus Ryder was to the fore for the County Champions, while Belnaleck hit further points through Garvan Quigley and Bryan Owens.
Aghadrumsee 2-9 v Derrygonnelly 1-18
Both sides hit early goals here as Leigh Jones hit a penalty for Derrygonnelly, while Daniel Crudden goaled for Agahdrumsee on 12 minutes to leave it 1-0 to 1-3. Aghadrumsee hit a second goal through Eoin McCabe in a goal mouth scramble, with half time seeing the away side leading 2-1 to 1-7.
Leigh Jones, Conor Burns, Rian McGovern and Conall Rasdale all hit early second half points as Derrygonnelly moved clear, however Eddie Courtney and Aidy Bannon hit late two pointers for the home team, however Derrygonnelly had done enough to claim the victory.
Crust & Crumb Senior Football League Division 2
Ederney 2-18 v Belcoo 0-8
Ederney bossed this one from the start and had a commanding 2-12 to 0-1 half time lead with goals coming from Shea Deazley and Eoin McKervey. Ederney kept ahead by plentythroughout the second half to pick up both points on offer.
Roslea 0-14 v Newtownbutler 1-15
Newtownbutler claimed a hard fought four-point victory away to Roslea with Conor Courtney’s first half goal proving critical as the First Fermanagh’s led 0-8 to 1-6 at the interval.
Daire Chapman hit some superb points throughout the second half while Kealan Fitzpatrick hit a number of important scores in the second half also.
Kinawley 4-15 v Lisnaskea 0-9
Kinawley hit an impressive 4-15 as they started life in Division 2 with a comprehensive victory over Lisnaskea. At half time the hosts were in full control at 3-8 to 0-1, with debutant Matthew Ferguson scoring a delightful goal. Aaron O’Reily marked his return with a goal, while Brendan McManus returned to goals and kept a clean sheet. Tiarnan McKenna hit the other goal, while Tomas Cathcart hit 0-2 from the bench. Conor Simmons, Liam Owens, Sean McManus and Tiarnan McKenna all landed scores in the second half.
Crust & Crumb Senior Football League Division 3
Derrylin 1-11 v Tempo 1-16
Tempo claimed a hard-earned victory away to Derrylin to start Division 3 with victory. Rian Bogue and Niall Fee hit points in the opening half while Aidan Breen struck over a majestic two pointer, while Kian Prior and Diarmuid Owens responded for the home side to leave it 0-8 to 0-11 at the break. Oisin Murphy hit a Tempo goal in the second half to put daylight between the sides while Fearghal McGovern hit a goal for the O’Connell’s.
Brookeborough 3-9 v Coa 0-8
