Thank you to everyone who attended the launch of the Fermanagh GAA Strategic Plan 2026–2030: Building from the Ground Up at the Ardhowen Theatre last night.

With over 200 club members, volunteers, players, coaches, partners and stakeholders in attendance from right across the county, the event reflected the strong commitment that exists to the future development of Gaelic Games in Fermanagh.

We are now pleased to formally share the completed Strategic Plan, a copy of which can be downloaded here – Fermanagh GAA Strategic Plan 2026-2030.

This plan sets out an ambitious and forward-looking vision for Fermanagh GAA over the next five years.

It recognises both the opportunities and challenges facing the Association and outlines a clear programme of actions aimed at strengthening Gaelic Games across every community in the county.

The strategy primarily focuses on:

  • strengthening coaching and player development;
  • supporting volunteers and club sustainability;
  • investing in facilities and infrastructure;
  • improving governance and financial sustainability;
  • promoting health, wellbeing and inclusion;
  • supporting Irish language and culture;
  • preparing positively for integration within Gaelic Games; and
  • ensuring Gaelic Games remain central to community life across Fermanagh.

A number of major strategic priorities are also identified within the plan, including:

  • the development of Ashwoods as a modern county hub;
  • the creation of a Football Review & Performance Workgroup;
  • a county-wide Volunteer Strategy;
  • enhanced coaching structures and development opportunities;
  • referee recruitment and retention initiatives;
  • the appointment of a dedicated full-time Hurling Development Officer; and
  • strengthened community engagement and wellbeing programmes.

Ambition sits at the heart of this strategy.

However, the success of the plan will depend on collective effort and shared ownership across the entire Association. Clubs, volunteers, players, schools, partners and communities all have an important role to play in helping deliver the actions and vision contained within it.

Thank you once again for your continued support of Fermanagh GAA.

This is only the start of the journey.

We look forward to working together over the coming years to deliver this ambitious vision for the future of Gaelic Games across the county.
