Senior Football League Previews

There is no doubting that the Senior football league fixtures are moving along swiftly and this weekend will once again have a full set of fixtures on Friday and also the re-arranged game on Sunday between Derrygonnelly and Erne Gaels.

Come Sunday at 3pm we should see a much clearer league table with all sides having played 11 games.

Senior Football League Division 2 (ALL GAMES WITHOUT THE 26 PANEL V MAYO)

Wednesday 6th July

Enniskillen Gaels 1-10 V Kinawley Brian Borus 3-7 20:00, Ref: Niall Cullen = Kinawley were to make it 11 wins from 11 last night with a three point success against Enniskillen at Brewster Park. Goals from Aaron O’Reilly (2) and Sean McManus was enough for Mark Monaghan’s side who show no signs of letting up in the race for promotion.

Senior Football League Division 1 (ALL GAMES WITHOUT THE 26 PANEL V MAYO)
Friday 8th July

Roslea Shamrocks V St Joseph’s Ederney 20:00, Ref: Martin Higgins = Roslea are moving along nicely while Ederney are in a position that they can either push on or be dragged into a bottom 4 scrap. This game should be quite close.
Devenish St Mary’s V Derrygonnelly Harps 20:00, Ref: Dermott Love = A West Fermanagh derby clash that will see both sides go in missing a number of high profile County players. Devenish eagerly need something, Derrygonnelly will go in as favourites.
Belcoo O’Rahilly’s V Irvinestown St Molaises 20:00, Ref: Kevin Donnelly = Irvinestown lost out last time to Roslea and they come up against a Belcoo side who are mid table and need a win to make a push for a top two spot. It should be close.
Teemore Shamrocks V Tempo Maguires 20:00, Ref: Ferghal Cleary = Tempo have not got going this season at all, while Teemore have been superb since a return from division 2. Teemore must be favoured here.
Erne Gaels Belleek V Maguiresbridge St Mary’s 20:00, Ref: Joseph Corcoran = Erne Gaels are moving well and sit in 3rd place with a game in hand. Maguiresbridge have been playing well but have only won 2 games from 10. Erne Gaels at home is never easy and they get the vote here.

Senior Football League Division 2 (ALL GAMES WITHOUT THE 26 PANEL V MAYO)
Friday 8th July

St Patrick’s Donagh V Lisnaskea Emmett’s 20:00, Ref: Noel Davis = Donagh have been going well all season while Lisnaskea after a shaky start have really kicked on of late. A close derby awaits.
Newtownbutler First Fermanagh’s V Aghadrumsee St McCartans 20:00, Ref: Oliver Mc Shea = Newtownbutler are breathing down the necks of Aghadrumsee and on current form this should be a very close encounter.
Belnaleck Art McMurroughs V Brookeborough 20:00, Ref: Gerard Mc Laughlin = Two sides who have not set the league alight so far. Belnaleck will be favoured here and with home advantage it would be a shock if they didn’t pick up the two points.
Derrylin O’Connell’s V Coa O’Dwyer’s 20:00, Ref: James Lewis = Similar to the game above, these two sides are having it difficult. With both sides missing a raft of players due to injuries work and holidays it’s a hard case to make a prediction for either.

Senior Football League Division 1 (ALL GAMES WITHOUT THE 26 PANEL V MAYO)
Sunday 10th July

Derrygonnelly Harps V Erne Gaels Belleek 12:30, Ref: Martin Higgins = Friday’s results may have a bearing on this encounter. It’s another derby clash and with Derrygonnelly missing more County panellists the game is certainly set up for an Erne Gaels win.
