Paul Coyle RIP
Paul Coyle RIP

Ó Choiste agus Ó braill Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Chontae Fhear Manach. Is oth linn bás Pól Mac Giolla Chomhaill, iar-imreoir de chuid an chontae. Déanaimid comhbhrón lena theaghlach agus lena chlann.

Fermanagh GAA are saddened to hear of the sudden death of our former Devenish St. Mary’s and County player Paul Coyle. We extend our deepest sympathy to Paul’s wife Sally, children Aoife, Peadar, Niall, Emer, Meabh and Fergal, mother Breege, brothers and sisters Patsy, Caroline, Sharon, Adrian, Declan and Kevin and wider family circle.

Paul graced the Devenish and Fermanagh jersey’s with distinction, a nippy corner forward who caused many defenders trouble. He won 5 club championships and  5 league titles with Devenish and represented the county at minor, U21 and Senior levels from 1984-1995. He was also freshers Captain with University of Ulster and winning the Sigerson and Ryan Cup.

While Paul may have moved out of Fermanagh his commitment and passion to the county never waned, he was a regular at our county games and was present in Brewster Park on Saturday evening. He returned to the Fermanagh senior county side in 2007 as selector with former teammate Malachy O’Rourke as manager. He was instrumental in helping to guide Fermanagh to the 2008 Ulster Final, a first in 26 years. His passion, friendly chat and big smile will be greatly missed by us all in Fermanagh.

Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anam uasal.
