Fermanagh GAA would like to congratulate Irvinestown’s Nigel Seaney who guided Trillick St Macartan’s to a first Tyrone SFC title since 1986.
The 1-9 to 0-11 victory over Killyclogher in the Tyrone decider started the scenes of wild celebrations in Trillick and also highlighted the great work that former Irvinestown and Fermanagh footballer Nigel Seaney has brought to the club in his first season in charge.
The Trillick side are backboned with a huge amount of former and current St Michael’s Enniskillen players with Matthew Donnelly, Richard Donnelly, Lee Brennan, Daire Gallagher, Rory Brennan, Proinsias O’Kane, Ruairi Kelly and Niall Donnelly having all attended the Enniskillen school.
The managerial merry go round works both ways however with Trillick men Sean Donnelly (Teemore Shamrocks) and Iggy Gallagher (Kinawley Brian Boru’s) managing in Fermanagh this year.
The Trillick side now go in search of Ulster glory at Senior level as they face the winners of this Sunday’s Donegal SFC Final between St Eunans Letterkenny and Glenties Naomh Conaill.
Trillick reached the Ulster Club SFC Final in 1974 before losing out to Armagh side Clan na nGael.
All of Fermanagh will be keeping an eye out for them on Sunday November 1st when they travel to Donegal.
