The Wings Awards are open to young people in Ireland, aged from 11-24, We hear so many ‘bad news’ stories about a small percentage of our youth and we would like to turn this around and celebrate our young people who are motivators within their local community.
This year there will be 9 awards on offer;
• 3 for aged 11-13
• 3 for aged 14-16
• 3 for aged 17-24
Each Wings Award recipient will receive a £250 bursary to spend on themselves and/or their community. In return, each recipient will feature in video blogs throughout the year, documenting their achievements and how they’re utilising their bursary.
“The Wings concept is something I created in order to support young people who were either determined to, or already had achieved great things in whatever passion they have in life. Our whole ethos is ‘Life Without Limits’ so we wanted to recognise and award people who are going out and actively living that ethos through using their God given skills and talents to the best of their ability. We are encouraging young people to use their wings and fly, get out there and show the world what they’ve got! By using our promotion and platforms, we can share their stories and positively inspire more and more young people” Director John McAreavey
