Fermanagh Vocational Schools 1-9 v St Columba’s College Stranorlar 1-6
Fermanagh Vocational schools qualified for the Semi final of this season’s Markey Cup with a deserving 3 point success against Donegal school St Columba’s College, Stranorlar on Monday in Garvaghey.
They did trail at half time 1-5 to 0-4 but a wind assisted second half seen Ederney’s Ryan Morris take the game to the Donegal opponents and with Newtownbutler’s Jason Flanagan scoring the all important second half goal it was the Fermanagh Vocational schools who went on to win the game.
Best on the day for Phil O’Connor’s side were defenders Kevin Smyth and Enda Cassidy. Midfield duo Ryan Morris and Aaron Calders were both excellent, while attackers Jason Flanagan and Paul Og O’Reilly excelled.
They now face the winners of St Columba’s Glenties and Breffni College Cavan, that tie takes place tomorrow in the Bawnacre, Irvinestown at 11.30am.
