Fermanagh 2-14 v Leitrim 1-14

Fermanagh secured a Lory Meagher Final appearance on June 6th with a hard fought 3 point victory over Leitrim.

It was a wet Brewster Park throughout but the standard of hurling was very high while the introduction of Sean Corrigan for Fermanagh really swung the game with Corrigan appearing for the first time this season.

Leitrim’s Padraig O’Donnell pointed all his sides first half points, while the Fermanagh goal came from Ciaran Corrigan after superbly out jumping two Leitrim defenders to blast his shot home.

Half time – Fermanagh 1-5 v Leitrim 0-9

Leitrim started the second half brilliantly with an early goal coming from Zak Moradi but slowly but surely Fermanagh struck back with 0-5 through John Duffy (3) and Sean Corrigan (2) to make it all level.

Leitrim’s Kevin Ward then put the Connacht side two clear but there was a never say die attitude in this Fermanagh side and a goal from Kevin McGarry while points from Thomas Cleary and the excellent John Duffy had Fermanagh finish stronger.

Best on the day for Fermanagh were defenders Karl Kehoe and Barrie Duffy, midfield duo John Duffy and Daniel Teague didn’t put a foot wrong, while up front the Corrigan brothers Sean and Ciaran excelled while Matthew Teague also made a welcome return to Erne colours.

Next week Fermanagh face Sligo to finish the league series before the small matter of Croke Park on June 6th is met.

Well done Fermanagh!!!
