Our Fermanagh minor football team are organising a fundraiser to raise money for two charities; ‘Action Mental Health New Horizons Fermanagh’ and ‘The Samaritans’, which is the GAA’s partner charity. The fundraiser, ‘It’s Not Minor, It Matters’, is looking to raise awareness about mental health and the minor squad are asking for your help to contribute to the conversation we all need to have about the importance of our mental well being.

Mental health is something that our minor’s have become much more aware about over the past 16 months since they got together for their first training session and it is cause they are passionate about contributing too.

A recent study showed that one in five people in Ireland will suffer serious mental illness at some stage of their lives; and since the covid-19 pandemic one in five people in Ireland have reported suffering psychological distress as a result of the pandemic.

For that reason over the next month our minors will take part in a number of activities that have the number ‘5’ in them. The activities include.

  • 5 Marathons
  • 50 Hours Yoga
  • 50 Hours MINDFULNESS
  • 500 hours walking
  • 500 hours talking
  • 5000 push ups
  • 5000 sit ups

If you can donate to our minor’s fundraiser it is much appreciated. And please help spread the word too, and we would love it if you could  take part in as many of the activities as you can. If you do take part please post about it on social media with the hashtag #ItsNotMinorItMatters so we can involve as many people as we can.

And please follow our social media accounts over the next month to keep up to date with fundraiser along the way.

If you would like to make a donation to this fundraiser but would prefer not to do it online then please get in touch with one of the Fermanagh Minor Management.
