A chara,
The Ulster GAA has begun the fresh consultation process for the new Casement Park. The first series of Public Events for Phase 1 begins tomorrow Tuesday 24th May.
The details for the Public Events being hosted initially in the West Belfast area are:
- 24th May in Conway Mill,
- 25th May in Glen Community complex and
- 26th May in Andersonstown Leisure Centre.
All three events will run from 1.00pm to 8.00pm. There will be an opportunity at these events to show our support for the Casement Park redevelopment by providing comments and completing a questionnaire.
The intention is to mobilise as many GAA members of our clubs as possible to attend the events. In addition to adult members attending these events, it would be terrific if clubs could arrange for any younger members to attend in groups kitted out in their club colours, tracksuits, etc. This would provide a very powerful message from our young people in terms of the support which the GAA clubs in Ulster have for the Casement Park project. In parallel with getting the clubs involved in supporting the project, there is also direct engagement with local businesses, cultural, arts organisations and schools in the area regarding their attendance.
I would be grateful if you could take the time to attend at least once over the three days and make any arrangements within your county/club to encourage as many members as possible attend the events. Hopefully, we will be able to make a favorable impression and show that there is a strong support within the Ulster GAA family for the new Casement Park stadium.
Later in the process the Ulster GAA will also be bringing the consultation to Counties/Clubs across Ulster when there is an emerging design to seek members input, support and participation for this once in a life time opportunity.
Thank you for your co-operation and assistance.
Best regards,
Stephen McGeehan
