Hi, My Name is Kerry Fisher and I am currently a Television Producer at Stirling Film and Television Productions. I hope you don’t mind me contacting you but I am working on a new project and trying all avenues that may have some sort of link to what we are searching for.
Stirling Film and TV Productions are researching a series for BBC NI on talented children and their families who are Irish speakers. Ideally we would like to find children (under 18 years) who are following in family footsteps to attain excellence in areas such as sport, music, dance, drama etc. We are expecting that some individuals will be well known in their fields and that they will mainly emerge in traditional sport and arts environments. Others may be excelling in less obvious areas such as golf or tennis, classical music or ballet, where their language ability and cultural background are not fully understood, recognised or relevant.
We are hoping to identify 6 children from across Ulster and to look at the influence family members and language play in their lives and potential for success.
It would be good to hear your feedback on whether it is something you can help us with. Is it possible you could maybe send this out to all GAA clubs within the County Fermanagh Area?
