Men’s Health Week (MHW) will run from Monday 13th until Sunday 19th June. The overall aim is to heighten awareness of preventable health problem in men, support healthier lifestyle choices and encourage the early detection of health difficulties.
Research shows that men die younger than women and men’s poorer lifestyles are responsible for the high proportion of chronic disease. Men are less likely to seek help until it is too late.
During 2022, the theme for Ireland is ‘MISSION: is POSSIBLE’ and the call to men (and those who support the health of men) is: ‘The Action Starts with You’.
To meet the challenge we give you three choices. The first choice is to do nothing (just like when the oil warning light on the dashboard of your car comes on and you choose to keep driving until you need a new engine) . The second choice is DIY (so when the warning light comes on, you stop and check the oil level). The third choice is to find an expert
