It is estimated that about 8 out of 10 men in Ireland don’t eat enough fruit and vegetables.  This is a pity, because heart disease is the single biggest killer of men and in Ireland, bowel cancer is the second most common cancer.  It is also the second most common cause of cancer deaths in Ireland.  The good news? … Both of these conditions can be prevented.

A well-balanced diet not only improves your general health and well-being and helps maintain a healthy weight, but can also lower your cholesterol, keep your blood pressure down, and reduce your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes and some cancers.  A healthy diet includes at least 5 portions of fruit and veg every day, low in fat and sugar and high in fibre.
