Motions
1 – Ulster GAA create a ‘backdoor’ system for Ulster Minor Football Championship to
enable counties to have a minimum of two competitive championship games.

2 – Fermanagh GAA Regulations 2015, Competitions Senior Football Championship
Senior Football Championship
Replace the current format of two teams being relegated to IFC and instead one team be
relegated to IFC , a relegation final to be played between the two losers of the existing
relegation games.
Ederney St Josephs
3 – Replace the current league with the introduction of a Shield Competition in County to
take effect one week prior to Fermanagh’s 1st Ulster Championship match. This
competition would run over a 10 week period (with one week clearly set aside for
holidays) with County players excluded from games. The Shield Competition would
mirror the League Proper with 2 divisions and teamswould play each team within their
division once with fixtures being the reverse of the League Proper games, i.e. League
Proper – Teemore v Enniskillen, Shield Comp – Enniskillen v Teemore etc. (9 games),
with the top 2 teams in each Division playing in the Shield finals. This would ensure
competitive games continue throughout June and Julywhile at the same time not impact
league performance for teams losing county players, which could ultimately affect
promotion & relegation.
The League Proper would be played between the National League and the start of the
Ulster Championship, and after the Shield competition, with double fixtures in August if
required (i.e. Friday & Sunday games). Teams would play each team in the league once
(9 games) and there would be no split in leagues ascurrently takes place. These results
would go towards determining promotions, relegations and league finals (2 promoted and
2 relegated, and the top 2 teams in each division playing the league finals). There would
be no starred games involved in the League Proper.
The Championship would be played over a 7 week period after both the Shield and the
League with the Championship final to take place 2 weeks prior to the start of the Ulster
Club Championship to allow the County Champions best possible preparation for the
competition.

Championship games.

7 – The Fermanagh Senior football leagues continue regardless of the success of the
Fermanagh County football and hurling teams. Players not listed in the County Teams
match day panel of 26 are realised back to their clubs so they are eligible for any senior
football league games scheduled for the same weekend as county fixtures.
