The role of the Club Public Relations Officer (PRO) has now got greater and greater with the boom of social media.
It is often said one of the busiest roles in GAA is that of the PRO with so many games now taking place from underage right up to adult level.
Communication is a key attribute and the biggest mistake a PRO can ever make is to assume people already know.
From working with team mentors, promoting the Club to the local community, providing team lists, keeping records for historical purposes and constantly updating club websites, Facebook and Twitter pages it has probably never been a busier time being a PRO.
Fermanagh clubs are once again well represented in some of the brightest talent in PRO’s and with more and more supporters checking online platforms communication is one of the most important activities in the Association.
The 21 Fermanagh clubs this year see 3 women and 18 men taking on the roles for the 2016 season. With a number of club managers acting as PRO and 7 current players being PRO for their clubs along with a Fermanagh ladies player and a Fermanagh Senior hurler they all must be highly commended for the work they put in for each respective club.
