Fermanagh will be happy to see visitors from outside the province of Ulster after defeats to Derry and Armagh in rounds 1 and round 3 of the NFL Division 2 campaign.
However, their challenge this weeks comes in the form of Leinster side Laois.
Fermanagh have gained the solitary one victory thus far with a 0-10 to 0-6 victory over 14-man Meath in round 2, with Tomas Corrigan looking highly impressive to date this season. Defenders Michael Jones, Che Cullen and James McMahon will need to keep things tight, while at midfield Eoin Donnelly (pictured) has been hugely consistent this season.
In attack Fermanagh will once again look to Ruairi and Tomas Corrigan to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
For Laois who have conceded the most in the division after 3 games they know that the loser of this clash will be in huge relegation trouble.
Goalkeeper Graham Brody has been consistent this term and he will be backed up by sturdy defenders in Patrick Cotter and Colm Begley. At midfield Mick Lillis’ side have John O’Loughlin and Brendan Quigley who have a great understanding between each other, while in attack the main focal point will be to get the ball in early to Donnie Kingston and other notable forwards such as Conor Meredith and Paul Kingston.
So both Counties head into this game unsure of themselves after mixed results so far this year. Laois will be buoyed by their recent successes over Fermanagh in Championship and league action and this will help install them with the belief that they can claim 2 further points.
For Fermanagh they have had a terrific spell at home lately with a ten game winning sequence, Pete McGrath will know that with Cavan coming next weekend then these are two vital clashes for the Erne County.
A close battle awaits us on Sunday.
