Derrygonnelly Harps go into Saturday’s Division 1 League Final knowing that a second double in as many years can be achieved if they can overcome Teemore Shamrocks under the floodlights of Brewster Park on Saturday evening at 7.30pm.
The ‘Double’ as it is become known is winning the Senior Football Championship and Division 1 League in the same season and it has been done an amazing 4 times in the past 5 seasons by clubs.
If Derrygonnelly can do the ‘Double’ they will complete a remarkable achievement for the club by also doing the ‘Double, Double’ with wins in 2015 as well.
The last time the ‘Double, Double’ was completed was by Enniskillen Gaels back in the 2000 and 2001 season.
The Harps though have some way to go to match the great Lisnaskea teams of the 40’s which completed doubles in (41, 42 & 43) and also Devenish (65, 66 & 67).
