Ulster Minor Football League
Antrim v Fermanagh
Glenavy, Sat March 21, Noon
The new season for the Fermanagh minor football team started on Monday past with a disheartening 5-23 to 1-4 defeat against an extremely strong Donegal side. On Saturday the Fermanagh minors travel to Glenavy to face Antrim who also lost last Monday night to Tyrone 0-12 to 1-4.
The Ulster Championship is still just over two months away but already Fermanagh face a stern test in this minor campaign as a home tie to Tyrone is then soon followed up by another tough away game in Celtic Park against Derry.
There is no doubting that the Fermanagh minor side will most likely not face a stronger team this entire season than the one they just faced in Brewster Park on Monday night past.
Antrim defeated Fermanagh in last years Ulster Minor League, 3-10 to 0-9 in Brewster Park before coming back and defeating the Erne County once again in the Ulster Championship 5-10 to 2-8. Once again the Saffrons can call on the services of quality forwards in Odhran Eastwood (St Endas), Andrew Hasson (Rasharkin) and Conor Small (Kickhams Creggan) who all have experience of playing at last years County minor level aswell.
The game itself is now switched to St Josephs Glenavy for a Noon throw in.
Referee – Dan Mullan (Derry)
