Fermanagh footballers were to guarantee Division 2 football for 2017 with a gutsy draw against neighbours Tyrone on Sunday last and that 0-12 to 1-9 draw seen an NFL debut from Maguiresbridge footballer Daniel Teague.
This Saturday the dual star Teague will once again go head to head with Tyrone but in a Division 3A playoff hurling clash that will see the winners play in Division 3A of the 2017 NHL season.
Teague who headed off to Berlin for a short holiday after Sunday’s draw with Tyrone admits its a big week for him, “I was delighted to get my first start at the weekend for the footballers and knocking over a late point was a fantastic feeling. I am looking forward to the Tyrone match now on Saturday and we have been training hard since the Longford game. I am loving every second of the dual role and both management teams have been great to me.”
He continued, “It can be tough enough sometimes with work and other commitments but sure I love doing it and to be honest its all i know. I will just have to keep the stick in my hand as much as I can and hopefully I can have great seasons with the Fermanagh footballers and hurlers.”
After Seamus McCusker and Sean Duffy’s side topped Division 3B and defeated Longford in the final they must now face Tyrone who finished 2nd bottom of this years division 3A league.
With the in form Daniel Teague involved anything is possible for the Erne men.
