Erne Gaels 2-11 v Roslea 1-6

Erne Gaels were comfortable winners in the end and in doing so qualify for a first Fermanagh SFC Final since they won it last back in 1981.

Erne Gaels started off superbly well with an early goal coming from Seamus Ryder before Seamus Quigley and Seamus Ryder both pointed to leave it 1-1 to 0-1 after 8 minutes at a windy Brewster Park.

Ronan Cox and Thomas McCaffrey then pointed for Erne Gaels as they pushed on but a Sean Quigley score settled Roslea to leave it 1-3 to 0-2.

Seamus Ryder was to go off with an injury for Erne Gaels but Thomas McCaffrey kept their scoreboard ticking over to make it 1-4 to 0-2 as half time approached.

Roslea were to finish the first half well with late points from Seamus Quigley and a sweet strike from James McMahon to leave it 1-4 to 0-4 in favour of the Belleek men at the break.

Erne Gaels started the second half in fine fashion with three points in a row coming from Ryan Lyons (2) and Thomas McCaffrey to go 1-7 to 0-4 ahead. Before Sean and Seamus Quigley pointed for the Shamrocks to bring them back into a lively contest.

Erne Gaels though were playing at a different level and Barry McCann, Thomas McCaffrey and Luke Ryder all pointed to go 1-10 to 0-6 ahead with less than 7 minutes remaining.

A Mark Lyons point put 8 between them before the game was over as a contest when Michael Og McGarrigle finished calmly to the net after great work by Barry McCann.

A late Seamus Quigley penalty put a small bit of gloss on the scoreboard for Roslea but all in all Erne Gaels the deserved winners here.

Erne Gaels = Thomas McCaffrey 0-4, Seamus Ryder 1-1, Ryan Lyons 0-2, Barry McCann 0-1, Ronan Cox 0-1, Luke Ryder 0-1, Mark Lyons 0-1.

Roslea = Seamus Quigley 1-3, Sean Quigley 0-2, James McMahon 0-1

Derrygonnelly 2-13 v Devenish 0-9

The second game on the Brewster Park double header seen holders Derrygonnelly run out comfortable winners at the end by ten points.

The first half was a closely fought encounter with Devenish pointing early on through John O’Flanagan, Martin Doherty and Barry Mulrone.

Derrygonnelly though were to go in at the break leading 0-7 to 0-5 with Harps points coming from Neil Gallagher, Ryan Jones (2), Garvan Jones (2), Stephen McGullion and Paul Ward.

The second half started superbly well for Derrygonnelly with an early Jonathan McGurn goal launching his side in the superior and with further points from Garvan Jones, Declan Cassidy and Neil Gallagher it looked like Derrygonnelly would see out the second half comfortably.

Devenish did not throw in the towel just yet and hit points from Barry Mulrone and John O’Flanagan but Derrygonnelly’s superior scoring threat shone through with further scores from Conall Jones and a fourth point from Garvan Jones.

Derrygonnelly hit a late second goal well into injury time from the experienced Declan Cassidy and they can now look forward to putting their title on the line against neighbours Erne Gaels on Sunday October 2nd.
