We move into round 7 of this year’s Fermanagh Senior Football League Division 1 and Division 2 taking place tomorrow. Full credit to CCC for getting through the games very well and a special mention to the clubs as well who are willing to get postponed games played off as quickly as possible. The leagues are slowly taking shape and a further two points here for sides will surely ignite further confidence.
Its Noon starts this Sunday before we all head back home, put up the feet and watch Derry take on Tyrone at 2pm.
SENIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE, DIVISION 1, ROUND 7
Tempo v Irvinestown = Tempo are the only side in division 1 to still find a victory this season and once again they will find it tough here. Irvinestown are in joint second and Shane Goan’s side are going very well.
Maguiresbridge v Ederney = A close game surely awaits on Sunday in St Marys Park. Maguiresbridge picked up two solid points on Thursday night against Tempo. Aidan Gilroy has started well as Ederney boss and this game should be very close.
Erne Gaels v Belcoo = Belcoo picked up two hard earned points against Teemore last Friday night and come into this game with a bit of confidence. Maurice McLaughlin has Erne Gaels playing very well and home advantage may just tip it for the home team.
Devenish v Teemore = These pair will face each other in a Senior Championship Quarter Final down the line and Sundays encounter should be very close. Devenish have lost 4 from 5, while Teemore have 2 wins, 2 defeats and 2 draws. Very close call here.
Derrygonnelly v Roslea = Two sides sitting in joint second place and little separating the two of them this season. Derrygonnelly have hit form since the opening day defeat to Erne Gaels. Roslea have impressed in recent weeks but the defeat to Erne Gaels at home last Friday will have disappointed the Shamrocks. Game of the day for sure.
SENIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE, DIVISION 2, ROUND 7
Kinawley v Aghadrumsee = What a game for Sunday Noon. 1st v 2nd and both sides going great. Kinawley may get a hesitant vote due to 6 wins from 6 and home advantage but this Aghadrumsee side have surprised many already this season.
Brookeborough v Coa = POSTPONED
Belnaleck v Newtownbutler = Belnaleck sit in mid-table and really need to start gathering wins to kick-start any promotion hopes. Newtownbutler have games in hand and if they can win here and the games in hand then the First Fermanagh’s will be coming along just nicely.
St Patricks Donagh v Enniskillen = Donagh are top scorers in the division and are looking good. Enniskillen have been hit and miss this season and once again home advantage has to favour Ogie Cadden’s side.
Lisnaskea v Derrylin = Having came down from division 1 many tipped Lisnaskea to go straight back up. Division 2 football though is a tough place to get out of and the Emmett’s are finding that out the hard way. Derrylin have only 1 win from 6 games and really another defeat here will extinguish any hopes of a Derrylin promotion even at this stage of the season.
Good luck to all sides this Sunday and safe travelling to all supporters attending games.
