Three Fermanagh men will try to create history this weekend as they along with 39 other footballers aim to play in a 24-hour long game at Tyrone’s Garvaghey GAA Centre starting this Saturday January 7th at 11am and finishing on Sunday January 8th at 11am.
The ‘Marathon Match’ in partnership with O’Neill’s International Sports and Michaela Foundation will see two teams go head to head for the total of 24 hours and the 3 selected Fermanagh men are – Eoin Maguire (Derrylin O’Connell’s), Mark Gallagher (Belnaleck) and Niall Burns (Derrygonnelly).
The general public are all encouraged to come along and watch the game which hopes to create a Guinness World Record for the longest game of Gaelic football. Spur on the players taking part in this monumental feat and enjoy some family friendly activities pitch side as well as a free health check courtesy of Cancer Focus NI.
