EirGrid Ulster Under-21 Football Championship Quarter Final
Fermanagh v Cavan, Wednesday, 8.00pm, Brewster Park Enniskillen
Fermanagh’s Under-21 footballers launch their Ulster title quest this Wednesday night against Cavan with a home tie at Brewster Park for Pete McGrath’s charges.
Fermanagh have had a poor record of late at this grade and with the Under-21 competition moving into an Under-20 grade from next season and only for players who are not in Senior County squads then this is a last chance saloon at Under-21 level for all these footballers.
Fermanagh have prepared in recent weeks with games against Down and Enniskillen Gaels. They will look to the likes of Conor Carney, Rory McCaffrey and Cian McManus (pictured) to cut out the Cavan attacking threat. Up front Fermanagh will look to players such as Conor McShea, David Teague and Conor McGee for the scores as they aim for a Semi final slot.
Cavan will be able to call upon a number of experienced and talented youngsters in the Breffni County. Defenders David Wilson, Dylan Raythorne and Eoin Sommerville are all tight marking defenders, while up front the talented Caoimhin O’Reilly and Bryan Magee will be well known to Fermanagh as they are two hugely influential attackers in the Cavan side.
A place in a Semi-final against Tyrone or Donegal is up for grabs in Enniskillen on Wednesday night.
Good luck Fermanagh!!!!!
