Enniskillen 11-12 v Tempo 2-4
Conor Love was to be the star of the show with an astonishing six goals as Enniskillen Gaels relatively easily captured the Feile na nOg trophy at a wet Brewster Park on Sunday evening.
Coming into the contest Enniskillen had posted big score lines with wins over Devenish and Derrygonnelly and it was very much expected that the County town side would also be strongly favoured in doing likewise to a Tempo side who played some great football in the semi-final win over Lisnaskea.
The Gaels side got off to the most perfect of starts when Conor Love got onto the end of a great ball by midfielder Fergal Quinn before burying his shot to the net before he then pointed to give Enniskillen a 1-1 to no score lead after just 2 minutes of play.
Oliver Hughes Jordan then got in on goal scoring act before Love accounted for his second goal and James O’Donnell done well to take on the Tempo defence and point to go 3-2 to no score ahead.
Tempo were finding things difficult around the middle of the field but in the 9th minute on an attack they were to hit the net after full forward Michael McPhillips done well to burst through before off loading to corner forward Padraig McCaffrey who was clinical with his finish and Tempo finally found their feet.
Conor Love accounted for his hat trick while Caolite Hamill, Shay Conway and Hamill once again made it 7-7 to 1-2 at half time.
Conor Love was to strike for a fourth goal early in the second half after good intelligent play by Caolite Hamill and Shay Conway to push Enniskillen 26 points clear.
Love collected his fifth goal with 20 minutes remaining while Tempo full forward Michael McPhillips who was strong throughout pointed after good work from Oisin Jackson and Dylan Flynn.
Both teams were to empty their sub benches but the Enniskillen scoring machine Love showed no signs of stopping as he used his pace to rush in and add his sixth goal and Enniskillen’s 11th of the night as the Gaels side swept Tempo past.
Credit to the Tempo players who never once gave up and tried throughout against an Enniskillen Gaels side who must surely be rated as one of the best at this age group for a long time.
Fermanagh GAA send good luck to both sides as they now represent Fermanagh at the Feile competition in South Leinster (Carlow/Wicklow/Wexford) this year on the weekend of 26th – 28th June 2015.
