THE start of the new Fermanagh GAA club season may be still more than seven weeks away but preparations have already begun in earnest for those clubs that take their football seriously.
Some squads have been on individual training programmes, some have been working hard in the gym, while spinning classes have been used by at least two Fermanagh clubs.
The Fermanagh sidelines this year will have 9 managers returning from the 2015 season and 11 managers taking charge of a Fermanagh club for the first time.
Former faces returning include double winning manager Martin Greene of Derrygonnelly Harps who will look to create history as Derrygonnelly try to defend the SFC crown. Irvinestown who captured IFC glory in 2015 also gained promotion to division 1 and former Fermanagh defender Shane Goan is over the St Molaise club once again. Maurice McLaughlin of Erne Gaels concludes the 3 remaining managers in Division 1 for 2016.
New faces coming into Fermanagh club football for the first time include Tyrone men in Finbar McConnell pictured (Ederney), Brian Gormley (Roslea) and Hugh Donnelly (Belcoo), while a number of clubs have went for former players including Sean Breen (Tempo), Mark Monaghan (Kinawley), Vinny Connolly (Newtownbutler) and Tommy Clarke (Teemore).
Another season beckons and once again with a league titles, promotion, relegation and Championship successes all in front of clubs it promises to be another enthralling season.
