Notably leading into the SFL play offs format i.e. the top 4 and bottom 4 play offs)
Where teams finish with equal points for qualification for the concluding stages, league semi-finals, or the relegation play offs, the tie shall be decided by the following means and in the order specified:
(i) Where two teams only are involved – the highest aggregate score over the 2 games (i.e. league games)
(ii) Where more than two teams are involved – scoring difference (subtracting the total scores against from
total scores for);
(iii) Where there is a further tie or equal position, then, the highest total score for; and ….
(iv)Exceptions: In relation to means (ii) and (iii) above, if the accumulated scores of a team, so involved, are affected by a disqualification, retirement or walkover, the tie shall be decided by a play off.
