Danske Bank Rannafast Cup Quarter Final

St Michael’s Enniskillen 5-4 (19) v St Colman’s Newry 1-10 (13)

Cometh the hour, cometh the man, Micheal Glynn (pictured) was to make a name for himself with a superb 3-2 as his St Michaels Enniskillen side defeated favourites St Colman’s Newry at windy Garvaghey and in doing so now book a Semi Final clash with St Patrick’s Maghera.

The Derrygonnelly Harps man who had hit 2-1 for his club in the Paul McGirr Under-16 Ulster Club Championship on Saturday, hit his opening two goals in the first half along with a goal coming from Enniskillen man Conor Love as St Michaels went in leading at the break, 3-2 to 1-3.

The second half was just three minutes old when Glynn accounted for his hat-trick with a superb finish and when Kinawley’s Tom Keenan swept home a fifth St Michael’s goal in the 48th minute then St Colman’s Newry faced a huge battle to try and get back into the game.

Credit to the Newry school they didn’t give up but they could only manage points from Patrick Brooks, Danny Magill and Ryan Connolly as St Michaels hung on and deservedly so.

St Michael’s Enniskillen – Micheal Glynn 3-2, Conor Love 1-1, Tom Keenan 1-1.

St Colman’s Newry – Patrick Brooks 1-3, Ryan Connolly 0-3, Danny Magill 0-2, Ryan Cunningham 0-1, Eoghan Byrne 0-1.
