Fermanagh Under-21 Championship to happen????

June 14th, 2017 | County

Fermanagh GAA are currently in the progress of looking into holding an Under-21 Football Championship for clubs in Fermanagh this summer. The winners of this competition would go on to represent the county at a provincial tournament later in the year.

During discussions early in the year and approved at the April meeting, CCC proposed the following format for the U21 Championship:

Games are 15 a side. Play each team in your group once. Top four teams progress to normal knockout format applies. The competition shall be run mid-week over the summer months, and completed before the county’s club championships.

We realise that not every club may wish to enter this tournament, but we would request confirmation before 12pm on Monday 19th June to allow us organise this competition and to implement any required changes.

It is hoped to start the competition at the end of June. The competition will allow clubs to keep players finished with minor football for the year active and involved for another few weeks over the summer.

We would encourage maximum participation in this competition and confirmation from clubs of your intention or otherwise to participate in this competition.
